Hi! I’m Hannah Ampe, proud owner and photographer at Hannah Ampe Photography based out of the beautiful Minneapolis, MN. My passion is weddings and I LOVE love :) I love capturing the connections between my couples and I try to extract emotions while shooting. I am a documentary style photographer, which means I shoot the candid moments throughout the day and don’t focus as much on posed stiff photos. My editing style is a little moody, but classic and clean. As you can tell by these photos, I love long flowy dresses and fun shoot locations.

You have just spent around $15,000 or close to it on your wedding venue. However, the one thing you will always remember on your day should certainly not be a budget cut. Why do we think this way? The reason is because we devalue photography. We see it everywhere we go, and everyday in our lives. However, we do not take into account what makes a photo appealing. We also do not take into account the service which is offered. Below are reasons on why no to hire an inexpensive wedding photographer.

If you are a parent, you know it is so important to document your child’s life at every stage. Your baby grows so quickly, and the newborn stage seems to fly by especially fast. They are so delicate, so tiny, sleepy and all curled up, and you have such a short window to capture that sweet moment before it passes you by.

All of this happened so fast. We met Michelle and her sister in January. Four months later, we drove to San Francisco City Hall to capture their intimate wedding ceremony and got to Castro Valley, where they had their simple yet elegant reception at their family’s ranch. This was the first time we met Nick and their son.

We knew when starting our photography business that lifestyle photography was our passion and we couldn't wait for families to appreciate it as much as we do. We love to capture moments as they happen naturally, as we think the most beautiful moments in life are unscripted. There's something special about lifestyle sessions. Smiles are genuine. Laughter is contagious. An organic moment caught on camera.

One of my most memorable weddings came into our lives very unexpectedly. When I started taking pictures of my kids as a young mom, I never expected to fall head over heels in love with it. Now, I am professional photographer who specializes in wedding and family portraits. I live with my family on the Emerald Coast in Florida. My husband, Dameon, is in the military, so I have had my business in a few states now.

One thing I love about photography is meeting so many amazing people - families, couples, kiddos, and sweet, newborn babies. Each of those people have a story and they've selected me to help capture part of it. Each story is different and that was something that both excited and intimidated me when I first started my business. I want to make sure that each of my clients, whether it's a toddler or a family of 20, feel special and that I capture memories they can cherish.

At some point throughout life, most people will be photographed professionally and it can be an intimidating proposition. Whether you are sprucing up your online profile and need a head shot or you're in an upcoming wedding, or are planning family portraits, there a many times in life that we find ourselves in front of the camera and are all of a sudden nervous and not quite sure what to do.

Anyone who lives in New England knows not to take good weather for granted. You can plan your photo session or wedding day down to the tiniest detail, but there is one thing that you cannot control and that’s the weather. Being a photographer who does most shoots on location, I have learnt this the hard way.

Remember playing dress-up as a kid? You could put on an outfit and suddenly be transported - become someone else in a different time and place. There is something so freeing about being able to become whatever you want. That freedom is what I want every bride to feel when she comes into our boutique. What would she wear to be the best version of herself on one of the most important days of her life?
