Hello! My name is Michelle Taylor and I run MayLily, a photography company based out of the bay area of California. I specialize in children, bloggers, and brand photography. It is the BEST. My husband and I have two little humans and two fur babies and we are pretty sure they are all the cutest ever. In my photography, I like to capture both the foundational poses and the emotion of the family. I am especially good with littles. I pride myself on getting true and natural expression whether they are looking at the camera or not.

A friend contacted me a while back about some family pictures. A mother of two children, a boy and a girl, she wanted to get some photos of the two together, as well as some with herself and her husband. We scheduled a time and ended up taking some beautiful family photos in the Burbank Mountains. After the shoot, my friend asked if she could schedule another session, just for her daughter.

I met Rob while I was working on a beautiful ranch in Wyoming, wrangling horses of all things. As a girl from Sweden, I was thrilled to be enjoying the “real” American west, cowgirl boots, hat and all. One day, Rob, who was on an epic journey from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon - on his mountain bike - caught my eye. And, while there was no official movie-scene swooning, we were instantly taken with each other, inseparable since. Adventure lovers at heart, Rob and I are on our biggest adventure yet: starting and growing our very own business. Vild photography, our business baby, is a representation of everything we stand for. In Swedish, “vild” means “wild”, and that’s exactly everything we stand for.

My name is­ Will Overby. I am a Creative Director who specializes in beauty/fashion photography. I am someone who is passionate about creating beauty images. My photographic journey did not start that way. I originally started by exploring different genres. Those genres included automotive and landscape.  I then eventually progressed to photographing people. Like anyone, I started photographing friends and family. Through working with people, it opened up a new world of possibilities for me. This is where the passion began. I learned to explore how people photograph and what I enjoy most is that there is always something different and unique with everyone. That is amazing to me.

I was headed back to Las Vegas from Palm Springs after spending a week in Southern California.  The trip was meant to give me a respite from the long and cold winter in Fargo.  It was a drive I had made a handful of times over the years so I wasn't expecting to unearth any new photographic inspiration, but when I saw the sign for the Joshua Tree exit, I couldn't resist. It was one place in the area I had never been.  How could I pass up to opportunity to shoot an iconic National Park when it was only 30 miles away?  As an artist, I am always looking for new inspiration and this was right up my alley!  Little did I know, that that short distance would quickly turn my side trip into an entire afternoon/evening excursion.

I always liked photography before i became a photographer. I was a pre- school teacher and I would always be the one taking pictures of the kids doing projects with them. Every time I would take a trip anywhere, I would take pictures. One day my parents came home with my first camera-- I was so happy. I started to take pictures at family and friends' parties. From there my passion grew even more. I started with small wedding jobs. I am always learning new ways to take pictures-- new techniques. Looking at my work inspires me to get better. My parents are my inspiration; they always encourage me to become better at what I do. Being a photographer is more than just clinking a button; its capturing those special moments for my clients. When you imagine Southern California the thought of cold weather doesn't usually pop in your head first. It was one of those odd chilly days that happened to show it's face on the same day these two love birds scheduled their engagement session. We talked about alternative options prior to the session but there wasn't anything that was going to stop them from showing their love in front of the camera. In fact, I think they heated up the Rancho Santa Ana Botanic garden once they started going!

Being a daughter to a single mother taught me at a very young age, to work hard for what you want and to never stop dreaming. I picked up my first camera at the age of 8. I would run around the house telling my family to smile. High school is where I really started to see that I had a future in photography.

After photographing more than 150 weddings over the past 7 years, I've created a style that is as timeless as art, documented for generations and beautiful in it's nature. My job is so much more than creating beautiful pictures, it's encapsulating moments in time from one of the most memorable days of your lives.
