One of my all time movie quotes comes from the Disney classic "Aladdin". Under disguise, Princess Jasmine of Agrabah flees her home and encounters the lower class, Aladdin. When they are cornered by the Royal Guard,  Aladdin extends his hand out to Jasmine and asks "do you trust me?" Jasmine responds "yes", Aladdin pulls her close and jumps out of a window. In that moment, they were fearless.

I've always loved being behind the scenes. Before I hit college, I bought my first fancy camera, a Nikon Coolpix. I was so excited to spend my money on such a cool looking camera. I started out doing lots of free photoshoots for my friends and learning as much as possible.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth Page and I’m the girl behind Elizabeth Page Photography. I live and work in the beautiful Atlanta, GA and I have lived in Georgia most of my life! I am passionate about traveling the world, enjoying good food & coffee, spending time with friends/family, and going to the mountains. Photography has been a hobby of mine for many years, but I started a business in 2015 on the side while I work in Marketing as my full time career.

I am Elisha Kaldahl a wedding and portrait photographer in Indianapolis, Indiana. My favorite meal is brunch. No matter how much I want to like avocados I don't. According to Buzzfeed if Hogwarts sent me a letter I would be placed in Gryffindor. I am married to Brian who is my husband, business partner and better than best friend.My photography style is documentary/photojournalistic. I prefer to capture moments as they naturally occur and I don't produce many overly posed photographs. I encourage couples to interact with each other as they naturally would and I capture those interactions. I feel that this approach allows me to fully and truly tell the story of what is happening between a couple during and engagement session or on a wedding day.

I can't believe 12 years ago, in 2006, I took my first film photography class in college. I immediately fell in love with the ability photographs had to capture the heart and soul of a moment. It has been my obsession ever since. I think this came from my grandmother who was the one who captured photos and made albums for the family.

Most days the world around us moves so fast. We tell people to stop and smell the roses, but most don’t. Living in NYC, the world around us just seems like a blur of light. However, some days we are reminded that life is precious.  For this one family, time seemed to stand still. As the hustle and bustle of NYC life circled around them, they continued to fight for a baby. Sofia and Mike are two of the sweetest people I know. They knew very early on that they would not be able to conceive naturally. They decided that they would try IVF. The road was long and the world kept spinning, but after six failed attempts, Sofia was pregnant.

My name is Erin Creeks, and I am the creator of MsIndependent. I consider myself an amateur photographer, and a very seasoned event planner. One thing that I love about photos is how they can pull you back into the moment when the photo was taken. I love coming across a photograph and before I know it I'm reliving the emotions, thoughts, and sensations that I once felt when the image was captured. After 8 years of hosting events for women in Houston, I can honestly say that I've created and lived hundreds of great moments that remind me everyday of how grateful I am to do what I love.

Look familiar? The family portraits of days when everything was film and you were truly on your best behavior because you didn't know what you were getting for at least 2-4 weeks. Mix in the unpredictability of children and you just assumed that you would have to at least spend money on two sessions to make sure you get everyone smiling. I remember when I was little we would always go to JcPenny's or Sears or somewhere to get family pictures done. Everyone looked beautiful, we would have a grey or light blue background.  We always wished for two things during those half hour sessions, no blinking (even if we looked like creepy dolls) and that the pictures were good enough that Mom wouldn't make us go back.

Hello there! My name is Maija. (It's pronounced My-a. Many people have that same question.) That's a photo of me on the right at age six. My very first camera is hanging around my neck. Maybe you owned a similar one, if you are also a child of the 80s? I chose to begin with this photo, because it is a piece of my story.

Why can't we just have the one that takes the year book pictures take them? Here is what I tell them: I know seniors. I adore them. I strive every single day to capture my senior photography clients being exactly who they are. Goofy, slick, studied, athletic, stylish, bookish, outdoorsy. I get it all, and, as a result, my seniors get portraits they absolutely adore.
