As wedding planners we are blessed each time we send a couple down the aisle because we know the details have been well planned. Walking thru the planning and design process with our brides and bringing their visions to life is the highlight of our job. Nikhila and Greg were the perfect couple whose love for good wine and all things traveled found a beautiful and fantastical way into every corner of the wedding.  Nikhila a beautiful South Indian Bride with Texas spirit the size of BIG TEX, and Greg our strikingly handsome Texas Groom swept her off her feet and brought them to us!

Although each wedding is different in many ways, they have one thing in common: family photos. This is a rare chance when you have all of your beloved ones with you. Everyone dresses nicely and feels so much joy. The photos you take with these people will not only important to you but also to them. Many couples were excited and thought it would be easy to do. After all, everyone just needs to stand together for photos. Doesn't it sound easy? No, it is not.

To explain how I got in a situation of having to do a photo session in full sun in midday I have to start at the beginning! Our long time friends from Seattle were passing through Boston a couple of weeks ago. They were on the way to the airport to fly back to Seattle and stopped in our house for a few hours. We were given only 4 hours to eat lunch, to have some quality conversation and do a photo shoot for their high school daughter. She is not quite a senior yet, but mom really wanted to get some fresh photos of her. All of this was in the middle of the day and while it is a perfect time for lunch and conversation, it is not an ideal time for outdoor photos, especially on a sunny day.

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Courtney and Kyle in a personal matter and the fact that they asked me to do their wedding in 2020 was such a great honor. I had the chance to catch up with them to do their engagement session at Courtney's family home in Wild Rose, WI. This was such a beautiful place with lots of room to roam. We started out the session talking and catching up. They decided on two outfits that fit their personality. Camo and one a little bit more dressy. She just look absolutely beautiful in the dress she chose for her session. Together they just fit!  We had sat and talked for hours about their session and they wanted it to be simple but romantic. I think I captured them exactly as they wanted. Their poses were simple and special. As we walked and talked and captured their love, I could see just how much they really cared for each other and I felt very lucky to have been apart of this moment with them.

I'm Rachel, a Huntsville Alabama family photographer that specializes in emotive portraits of maternity, newborn and families. I'm wife to Josh, mom to 18 month old Cantor, and currently pregnant with baby number two! My love for photography was born from my love to travel and desire to document those adventures. When not traveling, you can usually find me at home in my comfy clothes snuggling my husband and toddler, reheating my cup of coffee for the millionth time.

Do you ever have such an amazing day that in the moment you couldn't believe it was happening? That's how I felt at Ashley and Evan's wedding. They are so in love that they couldn't help but be all smiles on their wedding day, and who wouldn't be! Even as I'm writing this blog post I'm catching myself smiling because I feel like I'm reliving that day. When I say that I want to take these photos again, it's not because I don't like them. It's because I love them. The flowers, the warm sun, and the love that was in the air- all of it together created the perfect atmosphere that I got to capture all day!

I remember the day I told my parents that I wanted to be a Wedding Planner. It was my sophomore year of college at Central Michigan University when I was asked to declare my major and minor. Not only my parents, but many family members and friends asked if you could even go to school and get a degree for something like that. Regardless, I was determined to turn my dream job into a reality.
