One thing I love about photography is meeting so many amazing people - families, couples, kiddos, and sweet, newborn babies. Each of those people have a story and they've selected me to help capture part of it. Each story is different and that was something that both excited and intimidated me when I first started my business. I want to make sure that each of my clients, whether it's a toddler or a family of 20, feel special and that I capture memories they can cherish.

I've always had a passion for photography and in 2014 I officially decided to take that passion from hobby to business. In that time I've learned so much about myself and my "style." I prefer candid moments and true expressions but it can sometimes be hard to get your clients to open up.

I learned soon that photography is more than just sitting a family in an awesome, posed position and they smile directly at my camera. It means talking to them and learning about what they do for fun or how they spend their time together.

For example, I know that sweet Bella here (who is 2) loves to run and be chased by her Mom and Dad. She also loves it when they swing her around - and boy does she giggle! So, that's exactly what I let them do. They interact as a family (as they normally would) and you get so many more natural smiles and reactions compared to trying to have them sit still and look at my camera.

I chose this session to share not because of lighting (honestly it was very overcast that day), or for the location (we had to maneuver around construction going on), but because it was unscripted. I let Bella be Bella and I just ran around snapping.
