Hi guys!! My name is Brandi Linger and I own Brandi Linger Photography in the little town of Jane Lew, WV. Our population here barely reaches five hundred people, so you really have to try in order to find us on the map! We are mainly a wedding and engagement photography business, however we also focus on seniors and do some studio work. We have been in business a little over a year now, but only about six months full time. The most important thing to me in this business is capturing moments for people that they can't get back. It's like freezing time for them to look back upon, and then passing their pictures down for years and years to come.

In essence, I've compiled a list of 5 things to look for in a Wedding Photographer. After all, your photographer should become your best friend.... for the big day at least ;).

Everyday is truly a new day with a new adventure. There are so many different types of people I meet, so many different cultures, beliefs and personalities that make it easy for me to love doing what I do. I always knew I was not cut out for a suit and tie, 9-5 job; my mind is always running and would not allow for that!

My passion for photography was hatched from a series of experiences borrowing a childhood friends camera in my latter teen years. Whether I was shooting on the train tracks, on the beach or in urban areas, there was always something new that I was learning and some unique style that I was testing.

Reflecting over the past nine years of my life, I can recall a time when taking pictures was just a hobby. Today I am so thankful and blessed to be able to do what I love, while feeling very privileged to help couples preserve their happiest moments in still images and photo albums. Every girl has a dream for her special day and I've been honored to live my dream by documenting her dream day.

I can still remember the first time I ever picked up a camera – it was 2006, and I was a wee, high school gal with big dreams. I didn’t know photography would mean anything more to me than just a “profile pic” for MySpace and for memory keepsakes, but something changed in me that day. My first pet – the beautiful, queen of a cat, Sassy – and I went out into my mom’s garden and spent hours rolling around in the flowers (she did most of the rolling around), and I snapped photos like it was my last day on Earth. From then on, I was hooked.

This right here is my true passion! Capturing portraits of children having fun, doing what they love, and capturing those little details that will so quickly change. Photographing children is so much fun, seeing their personality is my favorite part. This session was a BLAST! His mama is always creating fantastic props for her boy's sessions and at this session, she blew me away!

There is nothing better than photographing a High School Senior. There is a great sense of adventure and uncertainty that is present every time I meet an excited upcoming graduate.
I love to talk with each of my Seniors before the session begins to get a sense of their style, their likes and dislikes, their ideas and their personality. This really helps me create a vision on how they are expecting their photos to look in the end.

I knew I was an artist since 7 when I had to write a paragraph about my future career.  It felt like I was just born that way, a creative, so it would make a good job for me.  At 15, I borrowed my sister's camera and made an album to take to my first photo class, one of the only classes I was excited about.  I loved watching the images emerge in the darkroom at school and my teacher even gave me extra film and paper for dedicating to the craft so much.

I remember getting my first DLSR in 7th grade (shoutout to gramps, you’re the real MVP!), and shooting in full auto mode. God, I’m embarrassed just thinking about that. And I’d love to claim that that was the day I knew photography was going to be something for me, but in reality, it didn't happen until six years later. Once I had my daughter, that's when everything started to click for me.
