Hey there! Our names are Esteban and Iliana Catalan and we are a husband and wife photography and design team. When we met we weren’t exactly doing wedding photography, but we knew that we wanted to start a creative adventure together and we did! We made it official in November 2012, about a year after we met. It hasn’t always been easy, but it has been definitely worth it to have our dream job where we get to meet wonderful couples and capture their love story together. We both work great together as a team. One of us focuses more on the details and the intimate moments while the other one captures the bigger picture. Our style is mainly natural lighting, but we don’t let the dark stop us, we also light to dig into the dramatic flash style.

Hey there! I'm Rachel, a wedding and portrait photographer and a hopeless romantic drawn to the art of storytelling through soulful words and timeless imagery. I’m a believer, an aspiring renaissance woman (if that’s a thing), and a lover of history, travel, and adventure. Born and raised a small town girl who loves the quiet places between towns, where the stars shine brighter and you only hear the waves crashing or the wind through the mountains; But I am also a woman who fell in love with the excitement of new places and so I left home to embark on this journey. My passion is creating a love that never dies and cultivating a marriage that is just as amazing after 50 years as it is the day you say "I do".

Photography was something that I always found interest in. Growing up, my father and grandfather both owned digital cameras. I would find any reason that I could to create some sort of "Photo shoot" with family and friends using my grandfather's gear. Sometimes, using myself as the muse! At age 20, I decided that I wanted to try modeling. It sounded great at the time, but I quickly realized that I had no passion for posing. I began finding more interest in what my photographer was doing with his gear, or in Photoshop. My photographer would give me quick lessons in editing in Photoshop during our sessions. I'd then go home and try to replicate the lessons on my own and I fell in love. So much that In May of 2015, I purchased a Canon Rebel T3 in a nearby consignment shop that was practically new and my life changed.

When I was young I was into sketching. I’d spend hours studying the face of my grandmother just to draw her eyes as they really looked. I fell in love with photography in my teens when I realized that it was a lot quicker to take a photo than to spend an hour on a sketch. My first camera was a hand-me-down that was worth less than the film I was putting in it. It had a meter inside that would indicate whether I had proper exposure. At the time it was just fun, not serious, and hardly anyone knew I loved it so much.

I have a deep love and appreciation for documentation, especially through photography. I am  guilty of over-documenting my three children, anxious to capture each fleeting moment. When I get a chance to document the lives and important moments for my clients I feel honored and approach the task with the same love and passion.

Hi everyone! My name is Stephanie Williams-Turkowski, the owner of Positively Perfect Photography, and I am beyond honored to be featured on Basic Invite’s blog. I am currently studying at Texas Tech University to obtain my PhD in Mass Communication and I run my photography business on the side. I capture moments for people of the Texas Panhandle and let me tell you, nothing can beat a sunset in this area of the country!

My name is Anna Johnson-Smith.  I am a full time mother, former kindergarten teacher, and photographer.  I own Smith Family Photography located near Waco, Texas.  We strive to provide a fun, modern, and creative photography experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

Smith Family Photography developed from a need that I had as a mother.  We have a "his-mine-ours" type of family, which consists of eight children.  Family photography sessions with a family that size are typically very expensive and stressful.  Kids do not want to cooperate.  They fight.  They argue.  They give goofy faces.  They are KIDS!  Although they are kids, photographers have a set amount of time they can spend at each session, which just adds to the stress.

Hey everyone! My name is Anthony Godines. First and foremost I am a husband, father, Texas wedding and portrait photographer based in San Angelo Texas. I'm 25 years old and somehow I'm still able to work a full time job and shoot weddings on the weekend. Not as crazy as it sounds!

I've recently started branching out into the state of Texas and destination weddings which has allowed me to run two wedding studios or brands you could say, one for my current city and the other for Texas and destination weddings. I shoot weddings and couples differently now than when I started about a year and a half ago. In the beginning it was all posing and direction, do this do that, no real connection between my couples. Now I photograph couples connecting together, genuinely enjoying each other with a hint of posing guidance. I place couples into faltering poses and give them activities to do, things to say and games to play. This leads to true reactions, true emotions and most importantly allows

One of my favorite engagement photo sessions to date was in the East Texas, middle-of-July heat. Katie, Christian, and I ended drenched in sweat from the humidity; but, the gorgeous, warm sunset was too perfect to pass up. There were so many reasons I loved this session: the couple, the chemistry, the meaningful details with backstories, the light, the ranch we adventured through to find the perfect spots... everything about this shoot just came together so magically.
