Hi there! My name is Vanessa and I'm a traveling wedding and lifestyle photographer. I have had the opportunity to shoot all over and couldn't love my job more!

One of my absolute favorites was a wedding I shot in New Jersey. The couple was laid back and really a joy to work with. The venue was Jack's Barn in Oxford, NJ and it was perfect.  The day started out beautifully and only got better!  The barn had so much charm and the couple worked hard to add their personal touches around it.

There is something very beautiful about watching interactions among people as they naturally happen. Their movements are fluid. Their smiles are genuine; their laughter is sincere. These organic moments when captured with a camera are called lifestyle photography. As a lifestyle photographer, my goal is to make your images look effortless, while preserving the emotion that keeps you coming back to look at them, time and time again.

How to Overcome Two Common Uncomfortable Expectations Nearly Every Bride Faces During the Wedding Planning Process

Planning for your wedding can be so much fun. There’s a lot to look forward to, however, during the planning process, you can be caught off guard by unexpected comments from well-meaning friends or just plain awkward expectations.

My Beginning

Ever since I can remember I have had fairies on the brain.

When I was 9 years old, I wrote a story called “The Key” about a girl who was walking home through a park and heard the cry of a fairy. She eventually was brought to a glowing door where she was transported to the land of Fae. A typical subplot, but I was 9, so forgive me! HA!

My name is Diana Hinek and I am a professional Birth Photographer and Doula serving the West Los Angeles area.
Often people stop in their track when they hear what I do -"You photograph what??", so I wanted to talk about what the experience of birth photography might look like from both behind the lens and from a subject point of views.

Mothers choose ( hopefully) where to birth their babies; so the first requirement to be a good birth photographer is to invest in a good DSRL camera and lens so that whether mom decides to meet her baby under the bright spot lights of a hospital room or in the darkness of her closet ( mama cats!), It will be possible to capture her birth journey and provide them with good quality digitals and prints.

One of the best parts of my job is when my annual families come in for their session. I am so filled with joy by the families I have the honor to photograph year after year. I love seeing the kiddos grow and change each session, and catching up with the parents as we herd their crew to our session location from the parking lot. It's so cool when a kid will reference something from a past session - a silly game I encouraged them to play, or a goofy word or name I used with them.

I’ve had a camera in my hands since I could remember. Of course way back then it was a hot pink Barbie film camera. I wanted to be just like my dad, from computers to photography. He used to own his very own studio. Like father like daughter, except my studio primarily consists of whatever nature has to offer.

Words cannot express the joy and gratefulness that I experience every time I am honored to photograph a newborn. They are so perfect and pure. They're parents are so elated and relieved. Siblings are in awe and never prouder. To experience one of those first hours of the first days or weeks is truly a gift.

Fairmount Waterworks is the famous spot for many people in Philadelphia, PA. With tracks for jogging or biking or be it just for a great walk overlooking the river or the art museum. Also, a to-go spot for many photographers for engagements and wedding portraits. I love it when my couples ask me to photograph there. I like to challenge myself to always find new spots, angels, and ideas to showcase the many amazing ways we can document engagement and wedding session.

Just as the cherry blossoms are now in full swing, we decided to spend our afternoon with Audrey and Dan and their fantastic dog. We started off with a walk by the river leading to a garden full of cherry blossoms which we took advantage creating some great portraits; then as the sun was setting, we finished our date with few golden hour photographs.
