I'm very excited to be featured here on Basic Invite, as a graphic design major (way back when) I appreciate great typography. Then you put a personal, stunning image with that and its like chocolate, I don't know many who don't like chocolate (I was going to say butter, but I know a few that don't like butter).
I'm Tricia, owner of SNAP photography based in Kansas City, Kansas. When Basic Invite reached out and asked if I would partner with them and to do a little blog post featuring a favorite shoot, I knew it would be hard to choose. I have been shooting since 2003. Over the years I've shot hundreds of weddings, families, seniors and babies around the midwest and beyond. I really don't have a favorite subject-I like the variety of meeting people of every age and for every event and all personalities. I also have two kids that I LOVE shooting but I figure you'll just have to check out my site/blog and see more about me, not just my work.
I started shooting film about 8 years ago with a medium format and while I am mainly a digital shooter, I do like what it adds to my style, you will see some here. I strive for authenticity. I want to keep true to the spirit of the subjects while capturing the natural beauty of our surroundings. And I really really do love the midwest. I love that we have a thriving metro in Kansas City and you can find gorgeous country surrounding us.
So I picked this young engaged couple, not just because they are crazy attractive but because they wanted to show their love of Kansas City as well. It is so fun to mix making people feel comfortable, with what the surroundings are giving you and light. This is what makes magic in my mind or really good chocolate.
