“I absolutely love this pattern. I was looking for a toile aesthetic without any of the typical pastoral characters; and this fairy and mushroom design was perfect. For my plaster wall, freshly painted with a custom color to match the matte backing of the wallpaper, I ordered the glissade in Eggshell and Carolina. It was especially nice that this pattern repeats at the edge perfectly with no need to keep multiple panels in a specific order - they are exactly the same, no matter how many you use. I also liked how sturdy the paper was; it did not rip easily or crinkle or pick up lots of lint/hair as I worked with it. Actually, I needed to bear down pretty hard with my new exact-o knife blade to cut off the top/bottom edges when a panel was complete. Made me feel like I couldn't hurt anything in the process and could really push this wallpaper around. The tutorials do not explain WHY you want to leave an inch at the top of the wall instead of simply starting with the already straight edge, but I figured it allows for if the ceiling is not straight all the way across. I decided to just trust the process of loosely taping a panel in place, with an inch allowance at the ceiling, and got myself a spray bottle and a ladder. The brayer included in the materials is all I needed for smoothing the panels down perfectly (as long as they were properly wet on the back). Some helpful additions were a work lamp creating raking light to reveal any bumps I missed in the first passes, a damp cloth to wipe off excess glue, and a towel on the floor to catch all the spraying/dripping water needed to activate the glue. A second person to hold the panel rolled up and keep it from getting wet all the way down as you're trying to secure the top is invaluable, too. There was one panel where I mistakenly left several dry spots right in the middle, making little proud air pockets off the wall, so I was able to test how easily the panels can be removed when I needed to peel it back and correct the mistake. More water under the edges and a little extra waiting time for saturation but then the paper came off with no rips and was still not too soggy to be adhered a second time. The product is very much as advertised when it comes to ease of application and removal. It has taken me four months to do a 12 foot wall (one 2 foot panel a day when I had the time and energy), but now that I'm finished, I am overjoyed with the look! (my picture is only partial progress but I think that's helpful when other reviews here have a finished room photo already) This is a step towards the bedroom of my dreams, and I am so happy that Love vs Design had the perfect product for my endeavor! Highly recommend.”

Review by DaniellePeel and Stick Ceiling Wallpaper Is An Easy Way to Transform Your Space
When someone thinks of wallpaper, they tend to envision it on a wall. One of the least utilized design possibilities in any space, however, is the ceiling. Too frequently, the ceiling remains boring, plain white. However, ceilings can actually redefine the character of an room entirely. One of the simplest and least pricey ways to achieve this is the use of ceiling peel and stick wallpaper.
Peel and stick wallpaper is just that, wallpaper with an adhesive backing that has no need for paste, water, or hiring a pro to hang it up. It's trendy for accent walls, but homeowners and renters are increasingly using it on ceilings to create a bold, personal look that you are sure to love.
Ceiling wallpaper will give your space a high-end, cozy, artistic, or even architectural look, depending on the design you use. It's a time and money investment with a huge pay-off. And because peel and stick wallpaper is a removable product, you can play around and not have to worry about the long-term consequences.
Regardless of whether you want to update an outdated ceiling or put a touch of designer flair in a room, ceiling wallpaper is a surprising, innovative solution.
Why Put Peel and Stick Wallpaper on the Ceiling?
Adding More Depth To A Room - A ceiling can also referred to as the “fifth wall” of a space. If you use it as a design element and not a last-minute addition, it can ground the room or create surprise and character. A patterned ceiling lifts the eye and causes the room to appear more vertical or more cohesive, depending on the pattern. In smaller areas or low ceilinged areas, a ceiling covered in wallpaper can serve as a stunning focal point.
Clean Easy Install And Removal - Peel and stick wallpaper makes the install a much simpler compared to other traditional types of wallpaper. You don't have to employ someone to put it up, and you don't have to cope with the messy glue or the drying time while holding your hands above your head. If you don't want it anymore or you're a renter, it's easy to remove it without destroying the surface underneath.
Creating The Perfect Vibe - Patterns and metallics can inject drama. Geometric prints introduce structure, and floral or natural prints can warm up a space. Use a tonal print of the same color hue as the walls for a quiet refresh. Be bold and ensure the ceiling coordinates with the overall color palette of the room so it doesn't feel isolated.
FAQs About Ceiling Wallpaper
What type lighting works best with ceiling wallpaper?
Flush-mount or recessed fixtures are best because they don't disrupt the ceiling surface. Chandeliers or pendants will also work, provided you don't place them in a way that will disturb the wallpaper pattern. Diffused, softened light is effective at showing off the subtler textures or metal details of the wallpaper and not creating harsh shadows.
Is it possible to put wallpaper on a textured ceiling?
No. Peel and stick wallpaper requires a flat surface to stick on to. On textured ceiling surfaces, it will not stick and will peel easily.
Is it difficult to remove ceiling wallpaper?
Peel and stick wallpaper is supposed to remove easily. Begin in a corner and peel it back, pulling slowly. When you encounter resistance, a blow dryer will ease the adhesive's grip and not hurt the paint or the drywall.
What is the time it takes to wallpaper a ceiling?
For a small space, it will require 3–5 hours. Larger areas or intricate designs will require more time. This varies with the expertise of the person, ceiling height, and the number of assistants available.
